Earth Wind and Fire |
Upon the green earth I am here
But a being never far or near
I will never know why I chose this place
I just feel the presents of time upon my face
I know I do feel the earth near
Close to me relinquishing my fear
I sense the fire deep within the big ball
And feel the rumble beneath it all
I fear not the blowing of the air
I but raise my hand to stop and hear
The wind that blows across this land
Moving hither and tether the sand
These trees do bend to touch my cloud
A swaying motion that is so softly loud
I find that when I walk this earthly path
I hear and feel a softness that is so vast
I make a motion to be in a window true
I feel the sting that comes from the drop of dew
Upon my brow and then my cheek
Affecting every word I speak
I motion my hand to wipe the wetness
My fingers brush away with freshness
There remains a wisp of moisture true
In the air around each hair and under so few
That I know this earth, wind and fire
Is mine today always to acquire
Waiting and waiting for me to teach
This peace that always stands just out of reach
Tis where I raise the bar above the wire
And always bless my earth, wind and fire
|
